“Direct Line Services (DLS) have continuously added to the channels that support the local restaurant community - from a start with a user-friendly website and an annual print publication and brochures to ever increasing on-line offerings. DLS multichannels reach out in virtually all the media formats restaurant customers use when they are looking to eat out. Dave Ostlund at Direct Line Services dived into Twitter with his quiz/prize format that keeps him at the top of the Twin Cities twitter traffic with people playing the quiz and winning gift cards to the restaurants he represents. Dave also works the Facebook crowd effectively with offers and information - and in particular this year - when on-line grouponing became another method for restaurants to reach customers - Dave and Chad jumped in with an acquisition of DealStork that nicely integrated into the already existing Twitter, Facebook, website and physical offerings that make for an effective and comprehensive restaurant marketing service. Dave's service is outstanding for small restaurants like Sanctuary that do not have the big marketing budgets of national chains. To us it makes a difference that we have a local that knows the local community and tastes rather than a company that will take and spend our advertising dollars elsewhere. Dave has created a unique and local niche, works tirelessly at continually improving the quality of his existing offerings (adding reviewers to his website offering) and also adds new capabilities that compliment and enhance his existing portfolio of value.”
– Naomi Williamson, Owner at Sanctuary - the restaurant
“As a concierge at an 821-room convention hotel, the restaurant brochures offered by Direct Line Services are invaluable to me and my guests. The sample menus give my guests an accurate idea of the cuisine and price range of the restaurant, and the property-specific directions take the guesswork out of how to get there. My guests and I use these brochures every single day, and they make the process of selecting a restaurant so much easier. The Twin Cities Food Finds guide is an incredible resource for concierges, visitors to the Twin Cities, and residents, alike. In addition, the mouth-watering photographs of the offerings of the finest restaurants throughout the Metro area entice the reader to explore areas that he or she may not yet have seen. My guests love to thumb through the book, browsing the detailed information for each restaurant, and often use the sample menus and photos to settle on a place to go. All in all, I could do my job without the Twin Cities Food Finds book, but why would I want to?”
– David C. Cave, Guest Services Manager, Lead Concierge, Hilton Minneapolis
“For as much as we like our guests to use our concierge, many people like to do things themselves, Twin Cities Food Finds Menu and Map Brochures gives them the opportunity to do that. The display is in a great location and people peruse it and use it. We had a restaurant in here the other day that said they are receiving a lot of return from this service.”
– Chris Decker, Hotel Manager The Minneapolis Grand Hotel
"Instead of having to give directions and draw maps to the restaurants I used to send our guests, I simply guide them to the Twin Cities Food Finds Menu and Map brochure display that has everything one could possibly need to know about area restaurants. We like so much that we have added an additional display in our concierge lounge for ease of our elite travelers.”
– Kevin Reed, Front Office Manager, Minneapolis Marriott Southwest
“It is nice to have professional literature that we can present to our guests for dining options. The directions on the menus save the staff time explaining to the guest how to get to where they want to go. Great job on the presentations and professionalism on this.”
– Michelle Nerby, Assistant General Manager Residence Inn Bloomington
“Our marketing partnership with Direct Line Services has been a successful alliance. The program drives our Hotel guests to one location for restaurant & entertainment. Not only does it generate revenue for our company through our advertisements, it decreased the traffic to our guest service agents and provides a valuable amenity to our hotel guests. I have personally experienced the benefits both from a marketing and guest service prospective.”
– Angela Greer Reed, General Manager, Radisson Hotel Bloomington by Mall of America and Water Park of America
“The Concierge desk on the skyway level at the Campbell Mithun Tower receives many inquiries each day for suggested dining venues and other local activities. Direct Line Services, through its brochure rack at my desk, provides a great reference source for many of the local establishments in easy-to-read and colorful format. Not only are there menus featured, but directions to the venues, as well. I consider these brochures to be a wonderful resource and excellent tool for my tenants.”
– Nancy Keyes, NCA Certified Concierge, Campbell Mithun Tower
“The Twin Cities Food Finds Menu and Map Brochures has everything. It’s great – Especially when we are really busy. We have needed this service for a long time. We no longer have to draw out maps or pull out a big book. It makes our job so much easier.”
– Julie Heikkila, Front Office Manager, Park Inn & Suites
"I just had to take a moment to let you know how successful The Direct Line Services Menu and Map Brochure display has been for the Hampton Inn- Richfield. It allows our travelers an opportunity to select an option for meal plans with a nice visual display, prices and location maps. It is a great customer service tool that our Guest Service Representatives appreciate as well. We look forward to continuing our partnership in the years to come."
– Carolyn Jorland, Director of Sales and Marketing, Hampton Inn-Richfield
“I have been working with Direct Line Services for many years. We have had their restaurant rack on my desk for a long time also. This rack with all the restaurants and menu’s is extremely important for our clients. We have a large number of clients from abroad. We can make suggestions and it is so easy for them to check out the location and also the menu. Also the Food Finds magazine is extremely helpful. Without these tools, my job would be much more difficult. We are very fortunate to be able to use Direct Line’s services every day here at the Carlson Center. Thank you Dave and Chad for your part in the hospitality industry.”
– Darlene Braufman, Lead Concierge, Carlson Center
